Barcelona’s subway and bus system is actually amazing…so much faster and more reliable than anything in the US. Literally, anywhere we wanted to go - the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Batlló - we had no trouble getting there. Plus, it was always fairly quick, even though we were staying at Sant Joan Despí, which is kinda far out.

To get your Hola Barcelona Travel Card and travel to the city centre, head to the airport’s metro stations. There’s one per terminal. Once you’ve passed Arrivals, just follow the signs for the metro. The T2 metro station is near the train station, whereas the T1 one is near the buses.
Once you’re at the metro station, find the e-mail you received with your personalized code. Enter the code into one of the automated machines, and your travel card will be issued. It’ll be automatically activated the first time you use it. To get to the city centre, you need the L9 Sud line.
